Backdating

I think I shall start this blog with a backdate to my University work. If the above video actually works, it shows my work from my lvl 1 up to now pieces along with the ideas and artists that inspired them.

However, I believe my work i did for my foundation degree was better; both for the eye and my own satifaction.

Above are 3 photographs involved with the end of year exhibition. These were displayed in their own room along side 3 six foot x 2 foot canvases which represented the moon, fireflies and the earth. There was also a video of  a man (namely my bf) which showed lacerations slowly appearing on his back. All this was representative of a dream i had where the was a man sitting by a river, motionless, covered in scars. Insects flew around him in the moonlight. I tried to capture all of this

In earlier work in my foundation year, I successfully made m first oil painting. I drew some still life from an allotment and tookphotographs. I zoomed in on a section of plant which i sketched, photocopied the sketch onto assetate, photocopied the layered asetate over a photograph and painted from it. It proved quite successsful. I shall try to find a picture and post at a later date.

Recently, I had to go to a workshop at uni which would enable me to use their equipment, health and safety and all that. The one i am amentioning in particular is the metal forging workshop,(learning how to craft and scuplt metal using a forge). This rekindled up my fascination which the forge i had before university. From when i was young and watching documentaries in awe at the beautiful blades created in them to the time where i was learning first hand off a blacksmith at a re-enactmen show i was involved in where i made my first knife.
I cant describe enough how i miss the re-enactment. That portal to the past and the accessabilty to the old ways...Curse this modern society with his hectic chaos that seperates me from what i love
